AI Can Write Japanese. A Site for Japan Is a Different Job.
AI can produce fluent Japanese. Buyers in Japan check different things: which company is responsible, how focused the offer is, whether specialist terms are intact, and whether the page is kept up to date.
Fluency is the easy part
Ask an AI model for a Japanese page and you will get Japanese. The grammar can be correct and the tone polite. A buyer in Japan is not grading the grammar, though. They are deciding whether this company understands how buying works in Japan.
What a buyer in Japan actually checks
- Whether it is clear which company is responsible.
- Whether the offer is focused. A page that promises help with everything about entering Japan gets skimmed. A page written for one kind of buyer, with one next step, gets used.
- Whether specialist terms have been replaced with generic Japanese. In machinery, food and software, the generic word is often the wrong word.
- Whether the first screen on a phone gives the reader what they need, and whether getting in touch is the one obvious next step.
- Whether the page keeps changing after launch week. A translation that never changes soon looks dated.
How UDX works
UDX is a Japanese company with offices in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Osaka and Morioka, and is part of the PROVENANS Group. We write and structure Japanese pages using that checklist, and every page has an update schedule. Our team also runs the digital operations of three Japanese businesses in our group, and we studied how ready 3,709 companies listed in Japan are for AI search.
The pages on this site in other languages follow the same process. Our team in Japan writes the master version in Japanese. The page is then edited in the reader's language and checked against the Japanese master before it goes live.
What we do not publish
We do not publish client names without the client's approval, and we do not publish enquiry figures. You can, however, read what is already public: our study of 3,709 listed Japanese companies and who we are.
