About UDX

A cross-border digital team, based in Japan

UDX is a digital consultancy in the PROVENANS Group. We run one playbook in two directions: helping Japan-based companies grow internationally, and helping international companies enter and grow in Japan.

This site

Into Japan

Market-fit research, Japanese AI & search visibility, and digital launch execution for international companies entering the Japanese market. Fully remote, delivered in English. See services →

Japanese site

Out of Japan

Overseas digital strategy, marketing, and sales transformation for Japan-based companies expanding abroad — assessments, HubSpot, SEO/AI-search readiness. 日本語サイトへ →

Both directions demand the same rare thing: a team that reads both markets natively. That daily two-way practice is why our Japan-entry work starts from how Japanese buyers actually search, decide, and buy — not from a translated playbook.

Rooted in Japan

We’re not a Japan desk. We’re a Japanese company.

Most Japan-entry advice is produced from outside: an analyst abroad, working from translated sources, telling you what Japan probably thinks. UDX works the other way around. Our core business is running digital marketing for Japanese companies, inside the Japanese market, in Japanese — with offices in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Osaka, and Morioka.

That daily practice is what we bring to your Japan entry: we know which trust signals Japanese buyers check before they purchase, how Japanese media and AI assistants describe brands, and what a Japanese distributor reads between the lines of your website — because reading this market is our home game, not a research assignment.

Who signs your work

Every deliverable that leaves UDX — every market-fit verdict, every set of Perception Notes, every launch recommendation — is reviewed and signed off by one named person. If a judgement in your report is wrong, you know exactly whose judgement it was.

Hideaki Mori, CEO of UDX Inc. and founder of the PROVENANS Group

Hideaki Mori

CEO, UDX Inc. · Founder, PROVENANS Group

Founded PROVE Inc. in 2007 and has spent nineteen years helping Japanese companies build businesses abroad — 2,000+ cross-border projects across 60 countries. He built the PROVENANS Group to close the gap he kept running into: strategy that nobody then executes.

That same conviction runs in the other direction here. Entering Japan does not fail on strategy. It fails on the thousand specific things nobody tells you — which claim you may legally make, why a page that reads well converts badly, what a distributor infers from your silence.

“Precisely because this is the age of AI, the value sits in the unglamorous human work on the ground.”

How the work is actually produced — stated plainly

We use automation heavily, and we would rather tell you where than let you guess. Collection runs at machine scale: we survey thousands of Japanese websites, query AI assistants across hundreds of Japanese-language prompts, and monitor competitor movement continuously. No analyst team could cover that ground by hand, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

What the machines do not do is decide. Reading what the evidence means for a Japanese buyer — the register, the hedging, what a reviewer chose not to say — is human work done in Japan, and the sign-off is a person’s name, not a system’s. That division is the whole method: measure at a scale people cannot, interpret in a way machines cannot.
